Baraka Gems is a family-owned jewelry boutique that has existed for many decades. The store was constructed in the basement apartments of Seattle's Ballard district. Phil's Jewelry, later named George Smith, ran the store for over 30 years, emphasizing integrity, client satisfaction, and the joy of giving. George was giving half of the profits from his jewelry shop to aid Uruguayan orphanages and Indian freshwater wells by the end of his professional career. George aimed to quit in 2012 and transfer his legacy to Jamie Jockwig, the founder of Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry. Baraka Gemstones and Jewelry, later rebranded as Baraka Gems, opened its doors in July 2009 and was oriented towards upholding George's values and connections in our communities and worldwide.
